Danielle van Zadelhoff

Danielle van Zadelhoff is a Dutch photographer who focuses on capturing emotion. In her portraits, vulnerability and loneliness meet in a subtle way. Her images invite you to pause for a moment, to see the person behind the face and feel the emotions that play there. Her use of chiaroscuro creates an intimate atmosphere that reinforces the inner world of her subjects, a technique reminiscent of the Flemish Primitives and the great masters of the Renaissance. At the same time, her work feels modern and contemporary; classical techniques are used to create a contemporary viewing experience. In a short period of time, she has built up an impressive portfolio and her work has been shown in museums and exhibitions around the world.
