Stijn Cole
Stijn Cole is an artist from Ghent who embodies a multidisciplinary approach to his art. With an artistic practice rooted in the profound exploration of the relationship between humans and their environment, Cole has built up a remarkable portfolio that is recognised both nationally and internationally. The artist studied at Sint-Lucas Ghent, where he honed his skills in advertising, design and later sculpture under the mentorship of Philip Van Isacker. Cole's work is characterised by an eclectic mix of media, ranging from painting and sculpture to photography and installations. His pieces explore the concepts of time, light and landscape in depth, often incorporating the experiences of his walks and travels. Cole's contribution to the art world is characterised by a subtle play on perception, challenging the viewer to actively participate in the interpretation of his work. Internationally recognised, Cole has exhibited his work in several renowned galleries around the world. In addition, his oeuvre is also permanently included in the leading Belgian collections of the S.M.A.K. and the M.S.K. in Ghent. His recent works are evolving towards more immersive installations, inviting the viewer to participate in an in-depth experience of space, time and form.
