What the body whispers   - Opening 16 December om 18u30

In What the Body Whispers, three artistic voices come together in a joint exploration of the mystery of the body. The human body reflects emotions, spirituality, and who we are. At the same time, it is also a tangible object, something that can be viewed, felt, and examined. The artists in this exhibition start from this realization. They explore the body, transform it, show what it can tell us, while part of it always remains mysteriously hidden.

Steven Peters Caraballo, a permanent artist at the gallery, is presenting his work in this exhibition for the third time. In his latest series, a continuation of earlier series, silent lips tell an intimate and meaningful story.

Daniëlle van Zadelhoff also lets the body speak. Internationally acclaimed for her oeuvre and impressive career, she explores the power of light and shadow in her portraits. In these subtle transitions, vulnerability becomes visible and emotion takes on a tangible form.

The triptych is completed by Wolfe De Roeck, a promising young talent. Her work focuses on the re-visualization of the body. She explores the boundary between body and object and constantly transforms it, creating new layers of meaning and leaving part of it abstract and open to interpretation.

Together, these three artists create a dialogue in which the body is not only displayed, but also whispers, is examined, and is constantly reinvented.

You are warmly invited to the opening on 16 December at 6.30 p.m. at Gallery Ysebaert.
